BIG FUCKING EXPLOSIONS

The new issue of Harper’s Bazaar has a photo spread produced in collaboration with Martin Scorsese in which current actors recreate classic scenes from the director’s films. Some of the choices run from the ridiculous (Kate Bosworth in The Age of Innocence) to the creepy (see Keanu Reeves and Chloe Moretz above) to the sublime (Boardwalk Empire’s Jack Huston and Christina Hendricks recreating Gangs of New York — wish they could do a new remaster of that movie where Leonardo DiCaprio and Cameron Diaz were digitially replaced with actors who didn’t ruin every scene they were in). Anyway, it’s odd and a bit sad (is Marty really that desperate to shill Hugo?), but worth a look.
